Experience
Mr. Johnson is a native Floridian and received both his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and law degree from the University of Florida, with Honors. He is an AV rated lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell, and is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law. Mr. Johnson has been recognized by the Florida Super Lawyers and the South Florida Legal Guide as one of the Top Attorneys in Florida. Since 1978, Mr. Johnson has had extensive experience in defending governmental and private corporate entities, including their employees, as well as numerous police agencies in actions brought in State and Federal Courts located in Broward, Dade, Monroe and Palm Beach Counties. He has broad experience in advising Power Companies, Insurance Companies, private corporate entities, governmental entities and boards, as well as litigating numerous and varied cases, including police liability, employment discrimination, civil rights actions, EEOC claims, professional liability, employment discrimination, employer liability, utility liability, personal injury and premises liability. He has authored several articles on Civil Rights Litigation, Employer Liability, Employment Law, and issues concerning police and governmental liability. He has also been a frequent lecturer on behalf of The Florida Bar, The Florida League of Cities, The Florida Municipal Attorneys Association, The Broward County Chiefs of Police Association, P.R.I.M.A. – South Florida Chapter, P.R.I.M.A. – State of Florida, and many local governmental entities.
